Bethpage Nursery School

Bethpage Nursery School is collaborative in nature.  Even as a working mother, opportunities were made available for me to be part of my children's learning. The philosophy is child-centered, allowing for the development of each child as an individual.  All of my boys are unique.  The staff at BNS quickly and accurately learned who they were as the whole-child and integrated their interests into their individualized curriculum, whether social, emotional, or academic.  My children developed a love for learning at an early age because of the staff at BNS. 

While maintaining a nurturing, yet structured climate, my children were academically and socially prepared for kindergarten.  They were exposed to programs, such as Handwriting Without Tears to gain proper writing techniques and a literacy program that paralleled Fundations, the program used in their elementary program.  They actively participated in centers and small group instruction.  As my youngest is currently attending, I observe BNS implementing changes to better align with the Common Core Learning Standards set for pre-K students and integrating more technology into instruction.  This proves to me the BNS staff stays current with educational requirements, monitors instructional practices, and makes adaptations to best prepare my children for the skills they need to be successful in the elementary school.

We have been so pleased with the care and support from the teachers and staff at BNS.   When my oldest started in the toddler program she was very shy, scared, and would not separate. Ms Sara, Ms Kathy and Ms Carolann allowed family members to stay in the classroom to help ease the transition. After a few sessions  Alexa enjoyed going to school and was always happy once she was there. Over the years she continued to present as a shy anxious child but all of her teachers took the time to get to know her, and supported her without pushing her too much. Alexa always felt safe and comfortable and loved going to school everyday. The teachers introduce learning concepts in a fun, age appropriate way which makes the children love learning and retain the concepts. I was very pleased that Alexa knew all her sounds and letters and came out of BNS with all her phonemic readiness skills intact. My middle child Madison started BNS at 20 months and has loved all her teachers thus far. I am very excited that Madison is continuing in the 3 year old class this year. Alexa told her she will love Ms Laura and Ms Christine and Maddy  cant wait to meet Ms Tammy and Ms Mary when she is four! If you are looking for a real familial school that includes parents as part of their program and introduces all the kindergarten readiness skills in a fun way don't look any further than BNS! You will not be disappointed.

Before I sent my firstborn there, I visited a number of other local schools in order to make the correct decision for my daughter and myself. In the end, I decided on BNS because I agreed with their educational philosophy, I found the teaching staff highly competent and warm and the environment homey and welcoming. My three children have grown – too quickly for my taste – beyond Bethpage Nursery School and are now thriving in high school, middle and elementary school. My two kids have grown so much from Bethpage Cooperative Nursery School! We could not be happier with the wonderful teachers and staff. They have cared for our kids like they are their own. We wouldn't go any where else!

My son attended BNS from the Toddler Separation program through the Pre K program.  All of the teachers there showed enthusiasm towards teaching and we could not have been happier.  With all he learned my son had the tools to confidently go to Kindergarten.  Thank you BNS!!

I cannot believe how fast this year has gone.  I can't express to you enough how thankful I am to have enrolled Leah and Nolan in BNS.  Ms. Tammy and Ms. Mary are incredible and I adore Ms. Christine from the Nursery Class.  I feel blessed to have such wonderful people in Leah, Nolan and soon Landon's lives,  I truly appreciate your support and love for Nolan and Leah more than y ou know.. Your understanding, advice and patience means the world.  It is an amazing comfort to have them at Bethpage Nurery School.
