Pre K Class

We follow NYS Common Core Standars for Preschool.  Our four year olds are immersed in a literacy and print rich environment where they are able to develop emergent skills in reading, writing, letter recognition, phonics, as well as listening and responding.  Students are also learning math, health, science, social studies, music, art, and problem solving skills through thematic units.  Students develop fine motor skills through cutting, play dough, lacing and manipulative. Gross motor skills are exercised on the playground and through music and movement.

Hand Writing Without Tears Program:

Our entire staff is formally trained in the "Get Set for School" HWT program. HWT is used in our 3 and 4 year old program to successfully prepare our students for kindergarten.

HWT is our curriculum for Readiness and Writing, Language and Literacy, Numbers and Math. All lessons are developmentally appropriate, invite student activity and use a multisensory approach. (Please note that the program is an adapted version for our nursery classes).
